How to care for succulents

1、About sunlight: Succulents are plants that like sunlight. You can place them in a full-sun location, which will be more conducive to their growth and obtain good shape and colorful leaves. It should be noted that in summer, When the weather comes, due to the strong light and temperature, you need to help them avoid the sunlight between 12:00 noon and 3:30 pm. You may also use a sunshade net to block the strong light; if you need to grow it indoors, you can put it In a sunny place on the windowsill or under a plant fill light.

2、Watering: Usually succulents do not need a lot of water and can be watered once every 15-20 days or even 30 days. However, in hot summer, due to the strong light and high temperature, watering can be done every 10 days. Water once from right to left. If you judge that the succulent needs watering, you can touch its bottom leaves. When the bottom leaves become soft, you can consider watering. When watering, you can refer to the weather for a few days and choose a plant with continuous sunny days. Water every day.

If you want your succulent to grow up as quickly as possible, you can water it more to help it grow, but while increasing the amount and frequency of watering, you should pay more attention to avoid unexpected situations.

 

3、Soil matching: Use loose and breathable soil as much as possible to plant succulents. Our store uses three soil matching schemes for succulents:

A. 50% granular soil: 1 cup of peat + 1 cup of iridescent stone particles, suitable for newly received succulents with only a few new roots.

B. 80% granular soil: 1 cup peat + 4 cups iridescent stone particles, suitable for succulents with strong root systems that require controlled maintenance to control leaf shape and color.

C. Full particle soil: Only iridescent stone particles are used, suitable for planting in glass containers without drilling holes.

 

4、Flower pots: Both ceramic flower pots and plastic flower pots are suitable for planting succulents. What needs to be paid attention to is the size of the pot. Try to choose a flower pot that is about 1-2cm larger than the size of the succulents. Smaller flower pots have limited water storage. , which can make the dry-wet cycle more stable. If you want your succulents to grow faster, you can choose a larger flower pot to increase the water storage capacity.
